Hardwood Manufacturer to Expand in LaGrange County
Tri-State Hardwood Co. Inc. is planning to expand in South Milford. The manufacturer is requesting tax abatement from the LaGrange County Council for nearly $450,000 to add new equipment. Tri-State Hardwood says the expansion will create four positions and retain 29 jobs.South Milford, IN. — Tri-State Hardwood Co., Inc today announced plans for an expansion of their operations in South Milford, IN.
The planned expansion at the plant in South Milford will involve the construction and installation of two new 50,000 board foot drying kilns as well as a new log de-barker. The new equipment will allow Tri-State Hardwood Co. Inc. to increase the capacity of lumber that is processed at the South Milford facility and will increase the efficiency of the operation. The company, along with the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation, will be requesting tax abatements from the LaGrange County Council for a period of ten years on the improvements, valued at $449,775. This expansion follows many recent improvements and additions to the operation over the last two years, valued at approximately $500,000. The expansion will also create four new positions at Tri-State Hardwood Co., Inc. In addition to the new jobs created, an additional 29 jobs will be retained, bringing their total employment to at least 33 employees.
