IEDC Provides Year-End Numbers
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says the state attracted $4.3 billion in capital investment this year, the second highest amount on record. IEDC Chief Executive Officer Mitch Roob released the anticipated year-end numbers during a joint meeting of the Corporation and the Indiana Economic Development Foundation.
Our partners at Network Indiana/WIBC report the state has booked 189 projects so far this year and Roob believes that could hit 200 by the end of 2010.
He says the number of new biotechnology jobs increased from around 1,230 in 2009 to more than 4,000 this year.
