A Kokomo company, which received funding through the city's Revolving Loan Fund program, appears ready to reach its initial hiring targets. Westwind Wood Specialities says it plans to hire 25 hourly workers and some salaried employees. The Kokomo Tribune reports a recruiting event will be held early next month.

The company, which manufactures doors, drawers and moldings for wood cabinets, received a $200,000 loan from the RLF last year.

It was also eligible for up to $70,000 in forgivable loans and grants, funded through Economic Development Income Tax dollars.

Westwind also unveiled plans to expand into Kokomo and create 25 jobs by 2013.

It currently has nine workers.
