State to Unveil New Unemployment Numbers
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development will release the state's May unemployment rate this morning. The rate dipped to 8.2 percent in April, below the national average of 9 percent and the lowest among neighboring states.Some of those states have already released May jobless figures.
The unemployment rate in Michigan inched up 0.1 percentage points to 10.3 percent.
The Illinois May unemployment rate is 8.9 percent, up from 8.7 percent the previous month.
In Kentucky, it fell to 9.8 percent, the first time the rate has been below double digits in more than two years.
Ohio will release its new unemployment numbers Friday.
