grand opening in Jefferson County

 

 

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Randox Laboratories- U.S. Ltd. hosted a grand opening today to celebrate the completion of its first East Coast facility. West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin officially opened the new 30,000square-foot facility in Kearneysville.

 

Based in Northern Ireland, Randox is an international diagnostic reagent and equipment manufacturer. The renovated $7 million structure houses administrative, distribution, sales and manufacturing functions for the Randox operation in West Virginia.

 

 “West Virginia works in partnership with industries here at home and around the world to develop successful relationships and create sustainable jobs,” Gov. Manchin said. “I am pleased that Randox is investing in West Virginia and welcome the opportunities presented by Randox Laboratories.  I am confident that West Virginia has the people, skills and infrastructure that will enable Randox to prosper in the United States.”

 

Dr. Peter FitzGerald, managing director of Randox Laboratories, said “We are delighted to be here in West Virginia, and appreciate the support that Governor Manchin, state and local officials have provided us as we made this decision. You will know that Randox Laboratories are committed to the improvement of human health care, through better and more comprehensive diagnostics — and I have no doubt that these facilities, and the people of West Virginia, will assist greatly in that goal. We very much look forward to establishing Randox in the Mountain State and to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

 

Randox manufactures diagnostic kits used for biochemistry laboratories and in virology and endocrinology. Its products can be found in countries around the world. Randox has sales and distribution agreements in 130 countries and is directly represented in 27 others.

 

The company is privately owned by Dr. FitzGerald and was founded in 1982.
